2026 Forvis Mazars Medicare Cost Report Data for Hospices 

• The data from these reports was compiled using Medicare cost report data for hospices designated as freestanding with fiscal years ended in 2024.

• The specific data represents days sales outstanding (DSO) for hospices and represents all payers.  DSO is a measure of the number of days of revenue that is tied up in receivables, and is a way to measure the typical amount of time it takes to be paid by payers.

• Each state is encouraged to share these reports with their members in whatever way they choose whether via email, downloads available from their respective websites, or whatever is the easiest way to share with members.

• If any of the states want to include the reports in a paper-based or electronic-based newsletter, then they are encouraged to do so.
